Call for paper for the workshop “Biomedical Applications of EMF”
2nd international Conference on Advances in Magnetics  (AIM2018), February 4-7 2018

Paolo Ravazzani (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, Institute of Electronics, Computer and Telecommunication Engineering IEIIT CNR, Italy)

Oriano Bottauscio (Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica, Torino, Italy)

Deadline: September 29th, 2017

The IEEE Italy section is planning to organize the 2nd international Conference on Advances in Magnetics  (AIM2018). The Conference will be held in La Thuile, Italy , from February 4 to February 7, 2018. For information about the Conference see

In the framework of this Conference, we were asked to organize a Session devoted to Magnetic Biomedical Applications, contacting people willing to present their studies. For this reason we are contacting you in order to check your potential interest in the event (or the interest of a colleagues of your group) and your availability in submitting one or more contributions.

We think this could be an interesting opportunity for members of EBEA, considering the increasing interest of our community on EMF and medicine.
A list of potential (non exhaustive) session topics is reported below.

The AIM Conference will be an interdisciplinary forum for presentation and discussion of the most recent advances in all fields of Magnetics: theory, numerical modeling, experiments and applications. The event will be open to experts and scientists with different backgrounds (engineers, physicists, mathematicians, material scientists, chemists, biologists, etc) to present, discuss, exchange ideas, methods and results.

Authors (including those ones of our Special Session will be requested to submit preliminary short papers outlining the relevance and the originality of their works and to present their research work at the Conference by oral or poster presentations. All contributors will be invited to submit full papers for possible publication in a IEEE journal, after peer reviewing process.

Latsis Symposium 2016: «Personalized Medicine – Challenges and Opportunities»

This year’s prestigious Latsis Symposium at ETH Zurich is organized jointly by the Competence Center Personalized Medicine and the IT’IS Foundation to discuss – for the first time – the entire multidisciplinary spectrum of research, technologies, and innovations in personalized medicine, ranging from genomics to simulations of virtual patient models.

The program involves a selection of invited leading experts from the clinics, universities, regulators and industry delivering keynote and plenary talks, with poster sessions providing the ideal platform for in-depth discussions, fruitful exchange across scientific disciplines and innovative thinking. Please note that young researchers are particularly encouraged to submit abstracts, and will be automatically entered into the competition for the best young investigator awards with a cash prize of CHF 2000, 1000, and 500, respectively. Details about the venue, the program, and much more are available at the conference website.

Please note that abstracts must be submitted by May 15, 2016 (extended deadline). Register now, submit your abstract, and join us in Zurich June 27–29 for three exciting days! For any further questions, please contact the symposium organizers by e-mail ( or by phone (+41-44-245-9686).

Cell Model Systems Summer School

Dear EBEA members,
Please find here the announcement of the Summer School in Advanced Topics in Cell Model Systems, that will be held in Rome-Italy from 8th-12th June 2015 at the Tor Vergata-Rome Research Establishment of National Research Council of Italy.

One week of school for PhD students and young researchers, under 35 years, to facilitate an effective sharing and dissemination of new and innovative research ideas, strategies, focal points on cell model systems (Poster of the School, Invitation Letter).
